I just finished reviewing an otherwise excellent paper that dropped the wish-wash "these results can help inform policy" when the results explicitly and dramatically challenge the prevailing management policy and just, like, c'mon friends, you can say "X data means Y policy doesn't work".

The whole thing is ridiculous. There is no one on that council that I trust.
The council, appointed by Trump and made up almost exclusively by members from Republican-led states who support significant FEMA reforms, finished a draft report in early November of over 160 pages.

Kristi Noem's office shrunk it to 20 pages, alarming some council members.
FEMA Reforms Bryant Helped Draft ‘Got Nuked’ in Favor of Cuts
A much-anticipated report on reforms to FEMA that former Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant helped draft has been whittled down in favor of drastic cuts.

meat thermometers even have settings that will tell you. just set it to the turkey setting 😭
(A) stop feeling pressure to be perfect;
(B) normalize asking questions, because that is normalizing learning;
(C) do not ask AI if your turkey is done; ask a meat thermometer
This is so soulless, I can't stand it. We have BRAINS. We can USE THEM.

Hurricane Melissa produced the fastest hurricane winds to be recorded by a dropsonde, verified by reviewing data at NSF NCAR! Hurricane Melissa’s 252 mph wind gust surpassed the previous record from Typhoon Megi over the Western Pacific in 2010, where a dropsonde measured wind gusts of 248 mph.

Watch bad headlines❗️❗️
No, the polar vortex is not coming next week.
Will it be colder, yes.
It's just a cold snap, like we always get as seasons change.
The polar vortex is assessed in the stratosphere, and it's alive and well migrating to Siberia next week.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Bro I am so angry.
I don’t think killing the poorest people in our country by ripping healthcare out of their hands is, in any way, better than ripping food out of their hands.

Which is what reopening to restart SNAP—itself illegally stopped—without ACA guarantees amounts to.

Do not vote to kill people. Simple stuff

I'd argue that for many of those countries, it was never there.

They did it because it kept critical views at bay.

But now those critical/sceptical views are gaining ground, no need to pretend any further.

It will be to our determent but the powerful elite don't care.
