Trying to write good.
My work obliges some discretion.

My poem “Moher” was longlisted for the WA Poets’ “Poetry D’Amour” contest and will be published in the contest anthology.

I came back to poetry a couple of months ago after a multiyear absence, so it’s welcome news.

Congratulations to all the other longlistees.
I am suddenly made of YES.
Good afternoon, book nerds.

Had that burst of creative energy in the middle of the year, wrote about 30 poems and a couple of short stories, then became distracted with work. Now, the tank’s bone dry. The page stays blank. The rhythm goes unheard.

Has this happened to you?

Anna has read and loved and is thrilled finally to be able to share with you Vanessa Berry’s new book, Calendar, a beautiful account of one year told through Berry’s daily encounters with the objects around her. This book is a joy to read.
