Constantly reminded of how poor people's communication skills really are. I am not exempt from this, even tho it's something I work on a lot. We are so alienated from each other. We are so bad at having serious conversations about serious matters.

one of the reasons why emergency alert systems aren't better is because we collectively stop talking about the problem within 2 weeks of a disaster and nobody wants to hear about it anymore

I think the role of police will becoming even clearer in the coming years. Not only will they hurt and kill people, but the degree to which they're far-right forces will come into focus. Cops will double down on supporting fascists and attacking those who resist or try to build working class power.
