"Around 1.2 million unpaid carers in the UK are estimated to be living in poverty, (with 400,000 in deep poverty)."

Unpaid carers sacrifice their own lives to look after someone.

And there's so much more in this article. It's truly grim.

Well done starmer 🖕

It's gone nowhere near far enough, but fake resentment is being stoked up among certain men and fed on by certain politicians, aided by social media. No one presents equality as an opportunity for everyone to escape from stereotypes, they thrive on exploiting difference www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Every time the figures come out, the media describe them as "the number of homeless". This is false. It's always reinforced with a photo of a rough sleeper, a group explicitly excluded from the figures. If it's poor journalism with no agenda, then it's remarkably consistent in sparing the govt #ge24

1/12 ARE WE USING THE WRONG WORDS?
What if we talked more of “sharing” and less of “socialism”? What if we spoke more about “fairness” and less about “equality”, and more about “unfairness” instead of “inequality”? What if we relentlessly shamed the rich hoarders? A thread… 🧵

I lost this ring in the toilets in Bounce in Farringdon tonight. It’s hardly worth anything, but it’s a ring my dad gave my mum and it’s priceless to me now that he’s not here. It’s gold, with a diagonal band of green stones on it. If you find it can you please get it back to me
