I work in an industrial park and every day I drive by this business called "Genetech." Looks exactly like Initech from the movie Office Space.

I just got an email from someone impersonating Donna Tartt. It's very nice. She doesn't claim to be my biggest fan or anything outrageous. She just wants to chat about inspirations! I wonder what she'd try to sell me if I responded.

If you don't have a library card, you should get a library card. Once you have that library card, you should get the Libby app. Once you get the Libby app, go browse the newsstand. Good chance your library card gives you access to ALL THE MAGAZINES. I'm talking the real good shit. AND BACK ISSUES.

I don't write many holiday-season romances but a have a few. Cowboy's Last Stand ($4.99) takes place in November and has Thanksgiving vibes. Witness on the Run ($1.99) is set along Alaska's remote ice roads which is a weird winter wonderland.

the value of human work (which I wish publishing would shout about, capitalise on, acknowledge) is that it comes from human hands. it's a scarf crocheted by a person, a hand-embroidered dress, a painting by an artist. & so forth.

I'm nervous about writing historical romance for a few reasons. I've written one before, and almost got it published at the start of my career. My editor at Bantam Dell asked me if I wanted to write romantic suspense or historical romance. I decided on RS

Question for any romance novel history people out there: does anyone know who might have been the first romance author to write/publish strict dual POV, ie: in equally distributed, alternating chapters? (Or, first-ish, I know tracking firstness in literature is complicated)

I decided to stop procrastinating and go back to the historical romance I started writing over a year ago. It's 70 pages and I've done a lot of plotting so I will keep at it.

It is the birthday of the novelist who wrote,
“Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.”
Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson was born on this day in 1850. He is best known for "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and "Treasure Island."
