I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Here's the transcript. When I say ‘we had a convicted reality star’, you can add ‘who now rules as the most openly corrupt president in American history’ in your head.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Oil on Canvas - 20” X 30”

This painting is one of several works derived from my experiences at MSKCC in 2000.

That year I read a couple of books which mentioned a feeling I have experienced at night during camping trips... 1/4

The publisher has it for a decent price right now.

Dorkin wrote for Space Ghost, some amazing comic series, and M+C/Eltingville/Dork basically defined indie comics of the 90s. Dork rewired my brain + artistic output, esp Murder Family. He was huge for the Ska scene too! Big illustrator. The price point of this collection is insane 4 what u get.
Reminder: @evandorkin.bsky.social's dairy duo, the worst fans that ever lived, and the rest of his absurdities conjoin in Nerd Inferno: The Essential Evan Dorkin, coming in April! Pre-order: https://bit.ly/3IwzQnI
