Remember, Ley & news.corp et al aren't talking to you, or even about you. They're screaming at each other & mistaking the echo as a response.

Most Australians want to honour the victims, have stronger gun laws and to get on with their holidays in peace free of unhinged ranting (relatives excepted).

After seeing Ley’s atrocious rant today, it is as well to remember this is the party John Howard destroyed projecting internal division out into the world. It’s ugly and dangerous, aided and abetted by an equally broken media, but it isn’t winning them any friends.

The PM has no reason to apologise. The #ABC intimated that he has apologised for #Bondi attack. What he said appropriately, was that he was sorry for what the Jewish community & Aust..had experienced. This is not taking responsibility for what happened. It was not the PM’s fault.

Albo just got booed at the memorial for the victims of the Bondi Beach shooting.

I immediately felt sick.

I’m also angry that this tragedy has been so politicised.

Albo is not to blame. The Labor government is not to blame.

Hateful extremists ARE to blame.

We need unity. Not more hate.

The so-called AJA has no membership base and no statitstics of any kind - or evidence of having members

It's just an astro-turfing website, run by an unhinged whacko Zionist drunk and his stay-at-home son. It's not an "association" of any one

People should treat it accordingly

The Bondi massacre, antisemitism and criticism of Israel have become tightly entangled in public debate. Context matters if fear is not to harden into blame, writes Jack Waterford.

This one’s on Netanyahu, not Albanese
The Bondi massacre sits within a wider international context that has reshaped public attitudes to Israel, antisemitism and protest, complicating how grief, fear and responsibility are understood in Australia.

Your reminder: In 1995 Labor introduced Sect 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act, making it unlawful to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate due to race, colour, or national or ethnic origin.

Those who opposed this are now attacking Albanese for ‘allowing’ antisemitism.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

In the aftermath of Port Arthur, the ALP put politics aside to unite with PM Howard on gun reform. It unified us and helped us heal.

After the Bondi tragedy, the LNP instead pounce to politicise it via Trumpian divisiveness for desperate political points

This is EXACTLY why we voted them out, AUS

The White House says the Kennedy Center board vote was “unanimous”…

BULLSHIT.

@repbeatty.bsky.social, a Congressional member of the board, was on the call. They muted her and didn't let her voice opposition.

This is beyond absurd, totally illegal, and a disgrace to the memory and legacy of JFK.

Ignore dopey spin like this.

Spending is not historically high once you take into account the NDIS, and we are an extremely low-taxing nation, so suggesting that "only higher taxes are keeping the deficit to merely bad" is quite silly
Ignore Labor’s spin — our fiscal situation is bad, and driven by a government that can’t stop increasing spending, writes Bernard Keane.
