I have a number of fun activities planned for my classes today, including reading a bit of The Hobbit graphic novel. How are you celebrating?

It's come to my attention that some people believe you can't buy a new book until you've read the books you already have. Let me assure you, as both a lawyer and a writer, that this idea is legally and morally WRONG and BAD. Buy more books.

In Komi lore, Baba Yoma is a forest witch. Described as a hag with hairy eyes and iron teeth, she’s known for her temper and connections to the other world.

A skilled weaver, she rules over waters, fields and animals, and dwells in a hut with moss legs.

I must listen to Taylor Swift's music one day.
A feminist, incredible business acumen, and a talented storyteller in her songwriting too?
She's like a modern day Celtic woman warrior...Medb or Queen Maeve mayhap?

Reading Lord of the Rings is good and all, but what I really want is like a 400 Hour YouTube video series of JRR Tolkien just going over all of his lore step by step.

Accidentally went on a 30-min lecture/rant about C.Columbus during my Norse mythology unit, prompting a student to comment “Wow, Mrs W, you really like Vikings” after.

I mean, yeah. I do 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣
