The taco stands were one of the coolest things going on in North Seattle, bringing people and good vibes to street corners where absolutely nothing else was going on.
SPD out here on Northgate shutting down the taco stand between 8th and Roosevelt due to "multiple licensing and health code violations" that they wouldn't provide anymore info about.

In his latest blog, my colleague @ucsdave.bsky.social clarifies how much the trucking industry damages our roadways, and how the public subsidizes them by around $88 billion a year to do so (not to mention over $170 billion/year in health and climate costs)

The House budget includes a $250 annual EV fee—framed as fair compensation for lost gas tax revenue.

But at 18.4¢/gal, a 30 mpg gas car would need to drive 40,000+ miles to pay that much. The average driver logs just 14,000.

This isn’t about fairness. It’s a penalty on clean transportation.

Toyota's "electrified diversified" banner ads you see at the airport or the ballpark around town drive me a little bonkers because they are essentially rebranding gas powered cars and hoping consumers still think they're super green.
Toyota wins as the company everyone thinks is green when in reality they continue making fossil fuel cars... At the earth day festival in SB they literally had a sign advertising gas powered cars because they don't need to be plugged in... Cool cool cool.
