US citizen says ICE removed him from his Minnesota home in his underwear after warrantless search
Federal immigration agents have detained a U.S. citizen in Minnesota at gunpoint without a warrant. That's according to ChongLy “Scott” Thao, who says agents forced open his door, entered with guns drawn and led him outside in his underwear in freezing conditions.

Ambitious WA data center bill just dropped. Lots of good stuff incl. protections for other ratepayers if the data center bubble goes bust and demand response requirements.

Great reporting by @oregonian.com on the daunting path ahead for clean electricity in OR.

Oregon electric utilities have strict green-power deadlines. They’re way off track
Slow compliance puts utilities ability to meet the emission targets in doubt and could drive up costs for ratepayers.

This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Just a reminder these are all people who entered the US legally...(and another that being in the US without proper papers is a civil, not criminal offense).

"Clashes" is not how I would describe the racial profiling and violent occupation of Minneapolis by armed, masked federal agents, but at least the NYT is giving this disturbing situation more attention

#WALeg kicks off TODAY. Our climate team's transmission wish list 👇
WA needs poles and wires in the ground, fast.

State leaders can step up by creating a transmission authority, removing redundancies in project approval processes, focusing enviro analysis, and other recs from @emilymoore.bsky.social and @ktrumbull.bsky.social

Its not that the media is not covering what is happening, but it does feel like the military occupation of an American city should be treated as a national crisis.
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

Half of Seattle rents, including our new mayor (and yours truly).

But renters can't enjoy upgrades that lower bills and make our homes cleaner, safer, and more efficient. Some ideas for how @mayorofseattle.bsky.social can change that:
@mayorofseattle.bsky.social is a renter. So is our climate director @emilymoore.bsky.social – and Emily has ideas for the newly-inaugurated Mayor Wilson to help renters get in on clean energy action like heat pumps, plug-in solar, and induction stoves.
Katie Wilson Can Be Seattle’s Climate Mayor for Renters | Sightline Institute
New programs for heat pumps, induction stoves, and plug-in solar would let renters reap the rewards of the clean energy revolution.

On top of everything, ICE agents didn't administer any lifesaving aid, prevented a doctor from attending to the woman, and blocked the street so that an ambulance (arriving 15 minutes later) couldn't get through. EMTs carried the woman's body out without a stretcher.
WATCH: Eyewitness Emily Heller tells Chris Hayes what she saw when an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis. “There was no doubt in mind that she was fatally shot immediately,” says Heller.

All you have to do is watch the video to see that the Trump administration is pushing blatant lies and propaganda. The NYT is irresponsibly implying there are two possible sides to this story.

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

Of course!
A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.
