Believing that America can or must be good does not require one to believe that America is or was good or that Americans are more important than anyone else in the world. I don't know who it serves to insist otherwise.
The problem I'm seeing with leftists is they want others to hate America as much as they do but I'm sorry that's not going to happen and also that's no way to improve politics. We need people to love this country and want to make it better. This era has actually made me more patriotic.

“Don’t tread on me,” except when it’s about giving benefits to low income people living in food deserts surrounded by ultra-processed food options, with limited public transportation options and ever-increasing inflation. Then they want you to tread all over and shame them for eating a doughnut.

No big deal, just me casually running into my favorite and Baltimore’s best first grade teacher, MRS. NONA PORTER! I look terrible and she hasn’t aged a day.

The worst thing about this form of censorship and public erasure is that it exposes institutional priorities that are wholly anathema to their stated missions and ethics.

This would have been an amazing exhibition, and this is a pathetic concession to tyranny.

It's really dystopian to see how digitizing everything, which was supposed to keep records safe, is instead being used to quickly purge information. We should have known I guess, but cripes.

Too many people are excited about Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk's rumored consideration of ending Daylight Saving Time because they have lived their whole lives not knowing whether "sad, short days" or "long, sunny, happy days" is Daylight Saving Time.

No more daylight saving time? Musk, Ramaswamy muse on ending clock changes.
The “Department of Government Efficiency” may target the century-old practice, the men suggested on social media. It was not immediately clear whether they were serious.

I hear of someone supporting the impending tariff plans, and I simply start shouting,

"THE 👏🏾 HAWLEY-SMOOT 👏🏾 TARIFF 👏🏾 ACT 👏🏾 Which. Anyone? Raised or lowered? RAISED tariffs. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects?

IT DID NOT WORK, AND THE UNITED STATES SANK DEEPER INTO THE GREAT DEPRESSION."

Libraries are literally one of the most wonderfully, equitably, inherently intellectually socialist public services that one could possibly imagine and I'm honestly amazed that those on the Far Right have, to this point, focused mainly on banning books and not tried to fully ban public libraries.
Public library energy is the best energy. Like here is all the knowledge we could find, it's been meticulously organized and vetted and it will cost you nothing today, welcome to the absolute pinnacle of human civic evolution, feel free to pull up any bean bag chair you like
