One is killed and one injured and they ban an entire country. But don’t be fooled - if this was seriously about stopping the violence, they’d have banned white men from owning guns years ago.
The U.S. halted all decisions relating to asylum claims and paused visa issuances for Afghan nationals, a day after President Trump vowed to “permanently pause” migration from nations he described as “Third World Countries.”

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

From the Guardian : why is it that Republicans need to have first-hand experience with something terrible to support calling out said terrible thing? I have not experienced childhood sexual trauma and I fully support transparency here - even if long-time Dems are named!

I’m gonna fukin die if sandwiches get banned before assault rifles.
It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

I spoke w/local food bank to ask what they needed to most as far as donations, and they requested cash instead of food donations as they can purchase what they need at a deep discount/wholesale rate. Just an FYI in case you were going to purchase food to donate vs. donating from your own shelves.

This entire farce where the GOP refuses to seat Grijalva is just the Merrick Garland BS all over again. The refusal of the GOP to follow the law should lead to their removal from office. Permanent ban.
Swearing in isn’t some ceremony. You aren’t a member of Congress until it happens. He knows that.

No phones, no staff, nothing.

I had to escort her into the Capitol on Wed bc Capitol police must treat her as a public visitor until she’s sworn in. And solo visitors aren’t allowed during shutdown!
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)

Who the fuck cares? We have a president RIGHT NOW who’s tearing our country apart, destroying public services, attacking his political opponents using our government, and cannot even give a quaint toast in front of the UK Royalty, and the fucking WaPo is reminiscing about the last president.

Dr. Levi, you don't have the authority to make something require a prescription, actually. That's not part of what ACIP does.

Here comes another yes from some other member. I hope there are 2-3 more sane people

As I read through this, I pondered the question: this is for questions they know the answers to. Now imagine using these tools for (1) questions you don’t know it’s getting wrong and (2) questions that have less pre-existing knowledge captured (because it’s not homoscedastic error)

Oh FFS - the brain damage is speaking again. Why don’t people call him out on his bullshit. It’s absurd.
RFK Jr: We had lots of guns when we were kids. Kids brought guns to school and were encouraged to do so. And nobody was walking into schools and shooting people. There are many things that could explain this. One is the dependence on psychiatric drugs.

Please, people. Stop treating anything RFK Jr says as science. It’s not. It’s not even close. 🧪
You’re not dropping a single, asshole.

If you’re actually knew anything, it would be criminal not to reveal it now. But of course, this is a bullshit publicity stunt.

The data package HHS offered to defend Kennedy’s decision is not the work of U.S. government scientists… “The compilation originated as material for a book titled “TOXIC SHOT: Facing the Dangers of the COVID ‘Vaccines’,” an anthology of essays by prominent anti-vaxxers.” @jackiantonovich.bsky.social

Wait. I thought Trump was asking to reduce the US costs not raise everyone else’s? Brilliant move. Why don’t we make everyone else suffer with terrible healthcare systems and costs just like us.
Regeneron CEO Leonard Schleifer backed Trump’s call for Europe to pay more for drugs, arguing current prices don’t reflect their fair share of innovation and calling for policy-level change.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
