Never in my life did I ever think there was a chance I could lose my health coverage having been born in Alberta. We're living in the most fascinating times. And not fascinating in a good way.

Never in my life did I ever think there was a chance I could lose my health coverage having been born in Alberta. We're living in the most fascinating times. And not fascinating in a good way.
As a member of a union currently bargaining with the gov't (HSAA) this is troubling on many levels. Taking away teachers' right to strike is a move that should never happen.
I hope the broader labour movement is ready to flex their collective influence. I don't want my own right to strike removed.

We want to apologize if it feels like we’ve been venting a lot lately. It’s just hard to ignore that nearly every move from this administration seems to be illegal, unlawful, or outright unconstitutional and yet nothing happens.

Wow, the minister of education just said teachers are too greedy and now I have no doubt that there will be a strike. "They chose less teachers and more money" isn't the bargaining statement he thinks it is.

This morning's gov update on negotiations with teachers sounds more like an attempt to "get ahead" of the story than it is to give an update. They don't want to pay teachers what they're worth; they want teachers to be among the average of the country instead of leading the way.

I still think we have only seen the beginning of the scandal with the Mraiche crime family. Millions of bucks from rancid Tylenol and other procurement contracts are not paid off with just some jobs for nephews and a couple hockey tickets.

I don't know if this person is from Alberta but this applies here.
I know not many people are aware of this but without a COVID booster every year, you aren't as protected from severe COVID infection. We really need more public outrage about COVID vaccine access.

The next time the AB government says their restructuring of the health system is going swimmingly, read drowning instead. Programs in the area of illness and addiction prevention are being cut - both in the community through funded agencies and in the public service. 1/?
