there is no “epidemic,” he is almost certainly going to say it is vaccines and, well, stay safe everyone.

And all your neighbours want to punch you and your friends in the face for doing it and disrupting the neighbourhood AGAIN.
You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.

Countries like Cuba, under sanction from the US, had to develop systems of maintaining and self-modifying old equipment to get by. Congrats America, guess you thought that approach worked so well you're now doing it to yourselves 👏.
how is everyone going to survive high school and college when there is no entry level laptop?

Unintentionally stimulating Canadian and Mexican border cities by using them as pass-throughs to avoid and minimize these outrages tarriff fees will be the funniest outcome of this whole ridiculous situation.
The White House confirms that 104% tariffs on China have gone into effect and will start being collected tomorrow.

Think about how many things you buy which are manufactured in and shipped from China.

And think about how many things you buy which have Chinese made components/ingredients.

Moreover, the one resource we desperately need to defy an authoritarian regime is TIME. And even if we can’t always stop them, we can stall for time. We can force them to drag it out. We can make them burn their precious resources on having to slow down and reset repeatedly. Time is a win.
Authoritarians depend on you obeying in advance and not resisting. Every act of disruption weakens them and slows down their plan. It's a crack. The cracks add up. This is why what Cory Booker is doing is important compared to the weak complicity of Schumer and others.

America's self immolating delusion that blanketly killing off, deporting, and firing swaths of people will somehow lead to increased purchasing power and record corporate gains is equal parts fascinating in its idiocy and unbearably morbid to an outside observer.

“But it won’t be affordable,” neighbours in $2M homes complain about a proposed apartment building
If it TRULY was used ever to prevent gentrification, we would have laws preventing mansions, not apartments. We would have city fees that charged more for mansion-building, not less. We would have bylaws making social and supporting housing BY RIGHT.

That is not what they do. They do the opposite.

Hey Maine, Vermont, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, Oregon.... the line is artificial, come on up.

We have healthcare, gun control, rank higher on nearly every metric, and our judicial system is built to provide actual checks and balances.
Trump: "To be honest with you, Canada only works as a state. We don't need anything they have. As a state it would be one of the great states. This would be the most incredible country visually. If you look at a map, they drew an artificial line right through it."

....which Russia stole wholesale from America, using secret [ie totally made up] WMD labs to justify military action during the war in Iraq.

We know where this goes, and we cannot take it lightly.
America apparently now doing the Russia-style "secret [ie totally made up] chemical labs in your country justifies the cross-border menacing we were already doing" move.
Kevin Hassett suggests Canadian authorities are covering up major fentanyl operations: "I can tell you that in the situation room I've seen photographs of fentanyl labs in Canada that the law enforcement folks were leaving alone. Canada's got a big drug problem."

Can you say for sure they’ll do something? No.

Do you take it seriously? Hell yes.
I don’t know if Trump would be able to successfully order an invasion of Canada today, but it’s clear that his regime is seriously considering it. The world needs to see the situation as deadly serious for Canada and Canadians

Need to expand the market for lumber? Build the houses Canada's been kneecapping itself over.

Need to expand the market for Canadian steel and metals? Build the high-speed rail system.

Multiple solutions are at our fingertips if we just muster the basic courage to do them.
A sign in the crowd last night said, “It’s time to build.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Insisting other entities call it “Gulf of America” isn’t based on any real principled desire for it to be called that; rather, it’s a convenient shibboleth for an authoritarian government to quickly identify who will and who will not obey, even for relatively trivial matters.
