The fact that the American president’s former best friend is helping Russia blackmail the president should be a far bigger story than it is.

It should be on the front page of every major news outlet

This is your reminder that Pete was mayor when two historic Black firsts took their positions (fire chief, police chief) and both had resigned under pressure from racists before the end of his tenure. Pete did nothing to protect them. He’s been shit for a very long time!
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25
Pete Buttigieg critiques Democrats for focus on identity
The former U.S. transportation secretary said the Democratic Party should focus more on issues gripping the country, such as health care and housing affordability.

Looking at these pictures of Ruby Bridges, and thinking about how moving it is to see how tiny and vulnerable she is.

And, I'm thinking about our language and culture around trauma, and how on a personal level it often feels lacking for me.

I’m never going to get my hopes up about a statewide election in Texas going any way other than red but the 2026 senate election is is an interesting case to me on the grounds that nobody really cares about Cornyn and a lot of people hate Paxton, which is maybe a slight edge for Talarico

OVER A MILLION USERS

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

Last week's elections showed the power of women voters, who delivered decisive wins for Democrats across the nation. Now, there's a surge in calls to repeal women's right to vote. Could this radical Christian nationalist agenda splinter the MAGA movement or pull them further toward extremism?

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton - I read the book at 13 when I was experiencing suicide ideation. Ponyboy was so relatable and gave me a sense that I didn't have to change myself. When I hit rock bottom a couple years later, I remembered his words at the end of the book (1/2)
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"
