My theme for this new Bluesky home: The retrospectives and retributions (necessary as they may be) need to wait. We need to organize a legally valid and tactically effective set of means of resisting that which is illogical, harmful or immoral. Our fratricidal bloodletting can wait a few months.
As a trial lawyer, I say, thank god! Tactical questioning is key. Not everyone is good at this. And repetition is brutal. Each rep ought have a theme. Unified d strategy is so important.

So ConLaw Bluskyers (looking at you @espinsegall.bsky.social) can Trump be immune to civil lawsuits while in office while he is himself pursuing civil lawsuits against others? This seems … asymmetrical?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So looking forward someday to visiting the Disney-sponsored He Used His Hand and Not His Dick Pavilion of the future Donald J. Trump Presidential Library and Museum.

Journalists, the starter packs are the seismic level fast forward thru which you can rebuild your follower base in a short period of time. I rebuilt nearly my entire carefully curate list of follows in a few hours using the starter packs. Come here. It really is better. Substantive. No trolls.
Twitter's principal utility (from a content curation perspective) is in journalists' willingness to post there; without it, Twitter quickly becomes 4chan. Journalists, make it happen. The only thing keeping you there is stasis. We can have nice things.

Whatever John Roberts is CURRENTLY thinking about Trumps appointments is way too late. He gave Trump immunity and enabled, coddled and allowed all of this through dithering and grotesque legal contortionism. Roberts OWNS the next 4 years as much as anyone. Regret is past tense.
No snark: I would genuinely like to know what John Roberts is thinking of these appointments.

Now is the time for those who experienced Patels short tenure at DOD to come forward. He is the worst of the worst. He is worse than gaetz would have been. Speak now or live with the sense of shame you will sink into when you see the damage he will do. This is a five alarm fire times 10.
🚨BREAKING: Donald Trump announces Kash Patel as the next FBI Director. If you had any question about whether Trump will prioritize investigating and prosecuting his political enemies, this is your answer.

Any headline about Kushner’s nomination that doesn’t begin with “convicted felon” before Kushner is journalistic malpractice of a high order.
Why is the New York Times describing Charles Kushner’s crimes as “violations”? Rolling through a stop sign is a violation. These were felonies that sent Kushner to prison.

The timing of the Sri of this nomination is not an accident. It ins me to think how much we will need four GOP senators to show a spine. I am confident of 3.
Kash Patel has repeatedly and consistently spelled out how he would deploy politicized investigations to target Trump's adversaries and make good on Trump's retribution agenda.

There is no other way to read this nomination.

The one thing no one is mentioning is ambassadors are exposed to sensitive intelligence. He can’t get a security clearance. So he can’t do the job and if Trump forces a clearance France will cease sharing intel with us. Trolling and nepotism has a real of price.

True Joyce. But tweets like this are making Trump sound more and more dictator-y.
Whatever a border czar is, they don't have arrest authority. Federal law enforcement officers do, pending judicial enforcement. Consultation with prosecutors is the norm for pre-planned arrests & here's the kicker: people being arrested must have actually committed a crime.

This is so true. The only predictable thing is … the unpredictable will occur. This will be interesting to watch. The resistance hates Iran and the Shia for the most part so that may be good for Israel. But having some type of demented caliphate on Israel’s border can’t be on balance good for Israel
Israel's intelligence chiefs reportedly warned Netanyahu that, despite generating optimism in the short term, “the collapse of the Assad regime [in Syria] would likely create chaos in which military threats against Israel would develop.”

It’s likely that Hezbollah Iran and Russia are about sr the limit of what they can do within Syria. I don’t see Turkey doing much unless fighting gets close to its border. The Calvary may not be coming for Assad this time around.
Developments in Syria unfolding so quickly it’s hard to really know how far the Syrian opposition can push. But the disarray triggered by this regime collapse may end up drawing in/implicating outside actors, including the U.S.

This is good. We live in a media age. Jerry Nadler is a miserable communicator and he isn’t up to the battling with Gym Jordan. This is too important to compromise our interests for Nadler’s ego. If he was honest with himself he would agree this is best for the Party and the rule of law.

Tough choice. I guess it depends on how much you care about what your mother thinks? 🤷🏼‍♂️
What’s worse?

(1) having your mother call you out as a dirt bag in an email published in the New York Times

(2) having a porn star you paid $130K in hush money pick little plastic mushrooms depicting you off a tray on the Jimmy Kimmel show

Boy is this the most succinct term to describe the GOP circa 2024. It’s like the word was created to describe the MAGA base.
Word of the day is ‘sequaciousness’ (16th century): the slavish and reckless following of another person in matters of thought or opinion.
