Shiong seems … ignorant of the fact that he owns a newspaper in the absolute least maga friendly media market in the U.S. An LAT boycott would be devastating and likely have real teeth. Unless he is like Musk and X and he just doesn’t give an F. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, we need to clarify to people the scope of HIPPA. Educating the social media deluded is a full time job. You can ASK anyone anything health related. It’s not banned. Medical providers cannot respond to matters covered by HIPPA. Literally anyone else can. It’s quite simple.

Just wondering how Trump could pursue civil claims while POTUS … while claiming immunity from civil claims. ABC besmirched itself. It was legally right normally and it was particularly right when Trump was about to become POTUS. ABC = shame right now. I hope their reporters let mgt know.

Actually what judge kaplan wrote was that in most peoples common definition Trump raped E Jean Carrol. He explicitly ruled that. So ABCs settlement is a political capitulation. Bc legally ABC was impregnable. So ABC: for shame! Truly.

Folks like Chibli Mallat, a Lebanese expert of Arabic law who helped write the Iraqi constitution, will already be hard at work on that project. Elongation of the transition is an invitation for the intercession of strong men. We need to learn from Iraq. The transition took far too long.

All: I think we need to recast the anti-Hegseth messaging. People are inured to the disgusting behavior of Trump's coterie. What really matters here is that Hegseth's behavior creates a major security risk. Perhaps someone like @bradmossesq.bsky.social can comment but Hegseth is a blackmail risk.

Hey some of Joyce’s peeps, give me a follow too! We lawyers who attempt serious engagement need to be amplified. Explaining things to others using facts law and logic tempered with the limits of realism is something I try to accomplish in trying to get others to understand complex legal issues.

Maybe Chris. I’m just a lawyer (law review, summa) trying to read the tea leaves in a world where legal reasoning at the SC is … not reasoned. The immunity decision blew my mind. We need ALL of the legal hive mind to figure this out. How do we appeal to 5 of the 9? It’s law and politics and policy

His “skeet” suggests otherwise. We need to hit the court without our best or just roll over and die. I prefer not preemptively giving up.

Kinda my point.

Which means … what? Trump has already shown a POTUS can fire an FBI director. He is saying is going to fire Wray. Forthwith. So now what?

Who wouldn’t pay to watch Elon musk and Mike Tyson play one on one? To 15.

No one knows. But being a lawyer is trying to understand the law and read the tea leaves. Whatever the court does will have a patina in the law. Your fears are vividly real. But dismissing lawyers analyzing won’t lessen your worst fears.
