The irony is that the moronic, classless and illegal exercise (DOGE) proved that the government was actually fairly efficient.

Don’t forget the part about building a nationwide unified database to allow surveillance of every US Citizen.

Linking tax, credit report, housing, political contributions, income, social media posts, vehicle movements, social security, health, etc.

Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

Context matters. @aftynbehn4tn was protesting a child sex abuser who had admitted it. Now Republicans are attempting to shame her for it.

We were there. Covering the activism of the Byrd survivors, Aftyn, and others is how the Holler was born.

FLASHBACK: “Do you feel lucky to get out of here without an investigation? How many girls were there?”

The Holler’s Kanew asked a retiring Rep. Byrd about girls he apologized for sexually abusing.

This is what @aftynbehn.bsky.social was protesting.

This is what they’re attacking her for. #TN7

@GovBillLee: “That’s gonna happen.”

PSA: Lee did nothing. Byrd was re-elected.

This is why @aftynbehn.bsky.social protested. Republicans are attacking the hero in the story.

Maybe if Patel and Noem had focused less on going after Kelly, deporting hair dressers and redacting trumps name from the epstein files they might have stopped this.

Frank, Donald Trump is solely responsible for this. He uses inflammatory rhetoric, and he must be held accountable. People like you should demand his arrest and imprisonment for life for the damage he’s caused to our country.

Our military has been politicized, and politically weaponized, against us, and against themselves. Patel's Nashville country singer gf should be ashamed for having guardsmen who should have helped keep their peers safe.

🖋️ “Investigate Noem’s $220 Million Ad Contract to Spouse’s Firm” hit 100 signers!

Investigate Noem’s $220 Million Ad Contract to Spouse’s Firm
Text SIGN PGDNXI to 50409 — I’m writing to urge you to investigate DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s awarding of contracts from a $220 million taxpayer-funded ad campaign to a firm with extensive personal and business ties to her and her senior staff. The Strategy Group’s CEO is married to Noem’s chief spokesperson at DHS, Tricia McLaughlin. The firm played a central role in Noem’s last gubernatorial campaign and has worked closely with her top DHS aide, Corey Lewandowski. DHS bypassed normal competitive bidding when awarding these contracts, allocating most of the money to a mysterious Delaware LLC created days before the deal was finalized. The Strategy Group does not appear on public documents about the deal despite running a shoot for an ad featuring Noem on horseback at Mount Rushmore. Multiple federal contracting experts told ProPublica that these extensive ties suggest major potential violations of ethics rules. McLaughlin claims she recused herself and has no visibility into why the Strategy Group was chosen, yet the office funding the ad contracts is listed as the DHS Office of Public Affairs, which she runs. Five senators and two representatives have already requested documents and formal investigations. Senate Democrats wrote that the public deserves to know government officials aren’t using taxpayer dollars to enrich themselves and their friends, calling for investigation into whether DHS officials violated federal laws designed to prevent self-dealing. I’m calling on you to demand the DHS inspector general investigate this contract, subpoena all communications between Noem, her aides, and anyone associated with the Strategy Group or the Delaware LLC, and hold public hearings on how a firm with these conflicts of interest secured taxpayer money without competitive bidding.
