Fantasy romance author. Writes repressed academics, unwilling heroes, and love-struck disasters with magical/supernatural occurrences. Loves unhinged soap operas that sound wild out of context.

Feel like I need to introduce myself, so hi!

I'm an erotic romance author who mostly works in fantasy, but I dabble in contemporary and sci-fi, too. I have limited free downloads of my first novella here:

One thing that doesn't get talked about when discussing how difficult it is for trans people to secure employment is that once you DO find a job, even somewhere "progressive, affirming", your identity & their knowledge of how hard it would be for you to find something else will be used against you.

This can't go on.
ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

In general, as I've got older, I've preferred less-than-ideal language paired with genuine compassion and support over perfect unproblematic language paired with dogshit behaviour

I know that I’m kind of a broken record about this, but the EA buyout is yet another example of how important it is to
1) support smaller brands, creators, and content (we have seen how voting with your wallet works)
2) be willing to let go of IPs that no longer support your narrative or morals

The gap between teacher pay and other college graduates’ pay is the highest it’s been in over four decades.

Is there a “teacher shortage,” or a shortage of jobs that treat educators with the pay, dignity, and support they deserve?

If you are struggling with something - a disorder, a loss, a hard time, the general state of things right now, reach out and get help. You don't have to struggle alone. There are compassionate people out there that can help.

Audiobooks have been a game changer for me, and I absolutely CANNOT cope with AI audio! It gives me the creeps and I would skip any book that used it! Real voices!! That’s what I want!

Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.

You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

It should be just as easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up for one, right?

Well, three GOP judges blocked the FTC's "click to cancel" rule established by Lina Khan.

Trump's FTC chair voted against finalizing the rule last year.

Another win for Corporate America.

I would also like one if someone wants to buy me a neat present that benefits a good cause but regardless, you should go for it for you.
Help support wildfire relief in Canada for $10 (or more, if you can tip)! All funds will go directly to the Nii'kinaaganaa Foundation.
In May, wildfires broke out across Manitoba & Saskatchewan, displacing over 20,000 people.

In partnership with the Nii'kinaaganaa Foundation (payyourrent.ca), some authors & other creators have put together a bundle of books & games to raise funds for First Nations affected. itch.io/b/3125/canad...

Okay. Studies are finished (for now! hoping to go back in the next few years) and now I have so much time to sit down and work on the writing WIPs I've been trying to draft in btw studies.
+ I have more time to READ. I have so many audiobooks to catch up on or re-read for better appreciation.

I really think the push for "AI" generative algos is an example of rape culture in some important ways. This is less about exactly what it does and more about the way people try to implement it and what it requires.

People say "no" but techbros want it, so now it's forced on you in all software.

Once again I am here to state:
AI using Em-dashes is not a sign of AI
Its a sign that AI is fucking STEALING FROM WRITERS!!!
I wish there was a secret formula for detecting AI writing at a glance but there just isn't one and spreading the idea that there is one just makes trouble for authors who like em dashes or hyphens or semicolons or whatever the tell is supposed to be this week.
