Once again, the global economy is being held hostage to the whims of a guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.
Breaking News: The global economy is projected to slow sharply this year as President Trump’s trade policy disrupts international commerce, the World Bank said.
World Bank Forecast Underscores Cost of U.S. Trade War
Along with a sharply downgraded projection for global output this year, it urged a “course correction” on trade to help preserve living standards.

Congress’s bill “would RAISE taxes for low-income Americans (Those making $30k or less). Every other income group would see LOWER taxes. The biggest savings would go to people in the $500k to $1 million income group.”

There's a lot to unpack here. But the "why do people in the developed world die from chronic diseases at higher rates than in poorer countries" is because we survive long enough to die from chronic rather than infectious disease. This is epidemiology 101. It's not a mystery.
I'm sure this is all a waste of our time.... But any medical experts out there want to watch Stephen Miller talk about MAHA and explain if there's any science here besides eugenics?

This is why DOGE seeks to weld AI into federal gov systems, making it difficult & costly to dislodge: ensuring a reliable revenue stream for AI bros, so their failed "innovation"--which the free market has rejected--will pay off.

Not how capitalism works: how corporatism (a form of fascism) works.
Some astonishing numbers in here:
-OpenAI loses $2 for every $1 it makes
-OpenAI projects annual losses of $14 billion by 2026
-To break even OpenAI needs to increase revenue 25x in just 5 years
-33% of VC portfolios are committed to AI
-5 AI-heavy stocks account for 29% of the S&P 500's value
Bubble Trouble
An AI bubble threatens Silicon Valley, and all of us.

Republicans claim to care about the debt, but they never want to tax the rich.

They only want to take it from the health care and programs for the poor and elderly — while CUTTING taxes on the rich.

It’s not about efficiency. And they don’t care about the debt. It’s a con.

The New York Times is the first to put out comprehensive estimates on the cost of a year without U.S.A.I.D. and they’re higher than I thought:
- 1.65 million deaths from AIDS
- 500,000 from lack of vaccines
- 550,000 from lack of food aid
- 290,000 from malaria
- 310,000 from TB
Killing children is by design, I'm afraid. "Pro-natalists" like Musk claim they aren't racist, but their pressure to have children is solely focused on white women, while they back policies that literally kill of non-white children.

He's a eugenicist.

Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True.
A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.
