Worked on bringing the voting scoreboard to live for Söngvakeppnin this year.

That included working on the design with the graphics design team at RÚV. Programming the animation for CasparCG. And workshopping the flow of the reveal along with the production team.

after days of grifters and con men at CES we stumbled upon the booth for VLC. they were all dressed as wizards and told us, "we have nothing to sell, we just decided to show up". i told them I'd been using their software to pirate media for 15 years and they said "keep doing that"

This is a true thing. Our first intl trip since Covid, and unmasked people flying with obviously active illness, coughing, sneezing, and snorfing on packed planes and in airports, is stressing me out. MASK WEARERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!
Now sitting in the boarding area listening to everyone around us cough and sneeze. Except for the three other people in masks, who all seem not to have whatever bug is going around. What an odd coincidence.
We the only two people on the plane wearing masks, and about half of the passengers in our section were coughing and sneezing throughout the flight. If we get sick, at least we’ll know where we got it.

It’s so disappointing that we were building a genuinely useful system to track an ongoing pandemic and we just stopped using it because everyone decided not to care anymore.
None of the sites I used to track COVID levels from 2020-2022 work anymore because there's so little testing, so I don't know if we're at Go to Things in a Mask, Don't Go to Things, or Don't Even Go to the Grocery Store levels of COVID, I just have to pick up "vibes" from headlines about hospitals

BTW, the Asian kid who became a spokesperson for the white ppl who sued to overturn Affirmative Action in college admissions today has changed his mind after growing up and actually learning more about US law and history
As Supreme Court considers affirmative action, a former critic of the policy voices regret
Back in 2013, as a senior in high school, Michael Wang sent a series of emails to admissions offices at the colleges that had rejected him.
