I'd never heard of this terrible low budget SF film, The Yesterday Machine, till #TheMadsAreBack riffed it, and I've been watching bad movies for fun for about 60 yrs. It's pretty terrible, which of course, made for a great comedy presentation. Downloads available at @dumb-industries.com 🎬💙 #MST3K

Also, they were part of a purge show where we crammed a bunch of semi-unusable interviews in one show.

Goldie Hawn was interviewed at the Concert for Tibet and all she wanted to talk about was the Dalai Lama, so Pavement sort of drowned her out.

Listening to [REDACTED] board game podcast...

Paraphrasing:
"I dislike the gatekeeping that comes with it; the idea you have to be a hardcore gamer to enjoy 18xx."

The only people I've ever heard say such things are those who don't play 18xx.

Those perpetuating this myth are "the gatekeepers".

I suggest it is to lower the average lifespan of working people. If they live past their productive years, working people impose an undue burden on the wealthy. This seems to be the core of conservative economics.

Things that have extended the average lifespan of working people:
Unions
Healthcare (through unions, Medicare and Medicaid)
Universal public education
Labor laws
Environmental regulations
Social Security

If you seek to undermine all of these, what is your underlying objective?

The lesson for universities is you may as well fight back. You'll lose the money either way. The only question is whether you keep your dignity.
Exclusive: Weeks after President Donald Trump’s administration ordered NIH to pull $250 million in biomedical research grants to Columbia University, the agency is freezing all remaining grant money owed to the university until further notice. scim.ag/4if5Rg1

Five Songs We Listened To This Week And Accidentally Leaked to The Atlantic
Here are five new songs that made us do that little half smile we do when we’re actively having a panic attack but don’t want to draw attention to it. Enjoy!

I love snow and I won't apologize for it. Beautiful day in Montreal with a couple of feet on the ground. That's a park bench and two garbage cans peeking out. First time out with my snowshoes in three years!
