New Jersey had TEN YEARS to prepare for congestion tolls. TEN YEARS to upgrade public transit and help New Jerseyans to get into the city.

You have been nothing but absolutely vile on this topic. You have expressed nothing but whining and complaining and self-righteousness.

Literally how dare you
I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Duffy for their efforts to halt the current congestion pricing program.

While I have consistently expressed openness to a form of congestion pricing, the current program lines the MTA’s pockets at the expense of New Jerseyans.

in what meaningful way can we say that the constitution is in effect when an unelected and unaccountable billionaire is wielding state power to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations?
Hearing that DOGE went into the Dept of Education today and shut down almost the entirety of the department's in-house research arm, Institute of Educational Sciences, cancelling contracts totally about $900m.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

A critique that people often lobby against art is that they “didn’t get it.” I think this really speaks to the current stage of media literacy in our culture. It’s not a requirement of art that you get it. How did it make you feel? Maybe you could understand if you thought about it more

Some frame grabs from a spot I shot for Marriott’s: The Luxury Collection at The Gritti Palace in Venice.

Shooting in Venice required quite the logistics. Hauling a 5 ton G&E package by boat. That was a first.

Watched THE SUBSTANCE again, this time for family movie night (the joys of having an older teenager!) Liked it even more. A hilarious, profound meditation on why you should carefully follow the instructions provided for your new medication

this feels like it's gonna be the best picture lineup.

not terrible, but also some truly unprecedented potential for the academy to pick absolute dog shit over an obvious new american masterpiece.

After cramming in 15 films in the last few days, I just submitted my National Board of Review ballot. Quite curious to see how it’ll all shake out.

THE SUBSTANCE is a dark comedy.

Big day of watching some remaining films before getting in my ballot for the National Board of Review. Time to nerd out.

ANORA was surprisingly very funny. It feels like the most balanced version of Sean Baker’s aesthetic and storytelling style. The script was always crackling and the human interactions felt so visceral and of the moment. Quite amazing how alive he can make everything feel. Deserves all the praise.

The cinematography in this was absolutely stunning. Some of the frames knocked me out. Particularly taken by the restraint shown throughout, primarily subtle and then BAM, a total banger that takes your breath away. All supporting the story. Oscar worthy all around.

First time lifting after a bout of stomach flu last week, graciously given to me by my one year old, and hooboy did I feel weak. Crazy what a couple days sick can do. Anyone with kids still managing to keep in shape are putting in some serious work.

As someone who just adored the 3.5 hour THE BRUTALIST, with a built in intermission, I agree with this take wholeheartedly.
I genuinely dislike the make movies shorter thing that's going on right now. Movies should be however long they want. If a movie wants to be four hours it's none of my business. I'll watch anything. I don’t care.

Just got out of a National Board of Review screening of THE BRUTALIST.

That’s film of the year for me and it’s not close. I’m blown away.
