@jamesgunn.bsky.social Thank you for Superman (2025). From my heart. It is honest, it is sincere, it made me want to be better. It is what Superman should be. I’ve seen it twice and want to see it again. It is true to the characters. Thank you for making something earnest in a supercilious world.

@jamesgunn.bsky.social thank you for making a Superman that seems to speak to me so well. I can’t wait to see the whole thing. But it seems so intricately rethought through, but so instinctively right. I think this is finally THE Superman.

The Mistress (1953), an import from Daiei Film starring the popular Japanese actress Hideko Takamine—better known today as Wild Geese or Gan—premiered at the Carnegie Theatre in November 1959. It’s always interesting to see which Japanese films were first distributed in the U.S.

Kinoshita's Twenty-Four Eyes is an absolute masterpiece. Starring Hideko Takamine as a first time teacher, it walks through her experiences pre-war, war, and post-war Japan as she reflects on the lives of her first group of students.

One of my favourite Japanese actresses ever! I'll view movies just because she's in it! I've also gone and visited (the relevant locations on) Shodoshima because of Hideko Takamine and "Twenty Four Eyes"!

The amount of Luigi art on Xiaohongshu is unreal. Like if you thought he was a folk hero in America, I've never seen so much content about him. There's 'how to look like him' clothing tutorials. There's songs and skits about how he wants to give the freezing firewood. Had no idea this was going on.
