Hideko Takamine really did the costumes for the movie. She talks about it in her memoirs at one point as well. A woman of many talents!

One of my favourite Japanese actresses ever! I'll view movies just because she's in it! I've also gone and visited (the relevant locations on) Shodoshima because of Hideko Takamine and "Twenty Four Eyes"!

One of my favourite Japanese actresses ever! I'll view movies just because she's in it! I've also gone and visited (the relevant locations on) Shodoshima because of Hideko Takamine and "Twenty Four Eyes"!
