Urbanist, bicyclist for transport, enby, parent to two kiddos. I’m a thrill-seeker - when those thrills come from completing a project.
I love how Muffin is experimenting with a goth phase, courtesy of being the “granddaughter” to a #bikeParent.

I’m pretty pleased with my #photography on this one. I would have taken a bit longer to frame it up just right, but I was afraid of getting scooped!

Review: Caydence Records & Coffee, Payne Avenue, St. Paul.

How hipster is this shop; yet the best parking for your custom fixie is a gas meter out of sight of the cafe windows? (There’s also a parking sign around the corner, so close room for three bikes total.)

Party at the Cargo Bike Shop! My kids and I will probably be there and looking for friends to bike to the park with.

FYI: @cbhs.bsky.social
Did you know we are having an open house at our St. Paul shop on November 22nd?

Full details at the link below. And don't hesitate to reach out with suggestions or questions!

At the #DavidByrne show, I rocked out to Life During Wartime, awash in the nostalgia of it, paying little mind to the lyrics, as ever; but when they put up video clips of #ICE and the #resistance to it, the song suddenly took on real meaning. How close are we to three passports, a couple of visas?

@ibikedinthis.bsky.social IDK if you inspired me to wear this while biking, but you definitely inspired me to document it. As you can see, I threw on a wool sweater after the show and swapped shoes for the bulk of the ride (the main photo is after biking the three blocks from the restaurant).

I voted today for @mayorcarter.bsky.social for almost all the same reasons. I look around and see progress and know if I want that to continue, he is the person to do it. His focus on the youth is especially a strong endorsement. As my kid says - A-he's a good mayor and B-he's good at playing Tag.
I’m voting for @melvincarter.bsky.social on Tuesday, and it isn’t an especially hard choice.

There’s a lot of talk in STP about how we need to do the basics really well. A lot of that talk has come from me! It’s something I ran on because it’s something I hear all the time from folks in Ward Four.

Hey #SaintPaul! We #vote today. I went with:

@energychris.bsky.social - this will be the third event in two weeks where I hang out with YOUR electeds! (And it’ll be a hoot. You should come.)

Urban Growler, St. Paul.

Plenty of well spaced n-racks. Could be more. Could have non-weedy plants below.

We have to get the word out about all this bike parking - you don’t need to come in your #Cybertruck!

On my way!
A better future is possible if you show up for it.

Can you join us this Thursday for a letter writing party and happy hour at @urbangrowler.bsky.social?

I biked two blocks over to my local train depot and picked this gem up from the independent bookshop therein. It was a good place to imagine a #LifeAfterCars.

Ominous! I’m hoping this is just a lost in translation moment and not the first of my death knells.

I’ve been furiously sewing this custom witch’s hat for my costume and now that it’s done on time, I’d love to know if folks can guess what my costume’s title is.

Hints:
1. I wear dresses pretty much all the time, the fact of the dress is irrelevant.
2. You pretty much need to be local to MSP.

@tcbikeparking.bsky.social Grainger #499 on Plato Blvd in St Paul. B-? A+?

You can lock to the handicap signs outside and feel quite secure about it (B-) or you can roll right in through the automatic door for easy loading, and no one will bat an eye (A+).

Another way to tell that #GenX is now in #retirement age: MN Aging Pathways offered this extra-long shoehorn, the kind with teeth.

I spotted Lime scooter 0001 yesterday. “Now that’s a piece of history right there!” I thought; only to stumble upon 0011 a few minutes later. I started to wonder if they were numbered in binary, but just for funzies.

@tcbikeparking.bsky.social Merriam Park Public Library (SPPL). Grade: A. Separated from the street, space for bikes on either side of your own, enough of it, well trafficked. I’m even tempted to give it a “+” for the e-bait-bike that’s locked by cable, but that feels cruel.

If you’re a Saint Paul voter, please consider what a failed school referendum would look like for our city. $37.2million would have to be cut from anything our district is not contractually obligated to provide, from Pre-K to music and sports.

No bike racks that I could find. This rickety stop sign on the landscaping rock was a poor substitute. At least there was space to park and a solid bike trail connection close by.
