I’ve long thought it’s better to say “it’s nice to see you” than “how are you?” bc it doesn’t put ppl who‘re struggling on the spot to be cheerful
But an interesting thing about how collective the trauma is in Minnesota—when you start a work mtg w “how are you?”, you often just get an honest answer

I think it's rather sad that people are describing the ICE murders as "people are being killed by their own government", as though that were somehow unusual.
The majority of murders are committed by people known to the victims (relatives, neighbors, etc), but of the people killed by strangers...

As others have aptly pointed out, police forces have been murdering people for a long time, especially POC. This terrorism from ICE is only a continuation and newest version of what we have been seeing for a long time.

Another time - after a long flight to Tokyo, our child was motion sick and ended up vomiting on the train to the hotel. Several passengers had wet wipes, bags, etc and helped us clean up.

My heart goes out to the newly elected council members in Minneapolis who are on... Day 3 of the job and having to deal with the federal government occupying their city and killing their constituents, a subject I imagine is not covered in orientation.

The government is saying that violence rules. That snatching foreign leaders and territories, and shooting US citizens in their cars at point blank range, is justified. That resistance is not only futile, it is dangerous. They can say these things. But they cannot force us to believe them.
