think there's a similar problem in London tbh - if you try to complain about the (many, many) twats on e-bikes acting like an absolute menace you just get shouted down by people saying BUT I LOVE MY LIME BIKE - ok! sure! but a lot of people are using them very unwisely! we can talk about that!
E-bikes are a real and highly visible problem for quality of life in NYC and I wish that activists were able to recognize that saying "well what abut cars?" makes them look really out of touch to regular people. They're even a problem for me when I'm on a bike.
