Its easy to say "the best Christmas song is the one where Springsteen yells numbers at the audience" but the true honour goes to Tom Waits doing "Silent Night" as a bit before launching into his own Christmas classic, where the audience laughs nervously at the "Charlie I'm pregnant" line

One thing that's striking about Ozzy Osborne's death is how difficult it is to imagine the music industry producing another figure like him. The barriers to working class people are so great, and there's a related attitude to culture that is neutered as a result.
