Inside Trump’s Deportation of Venezuelans: Four Months in a Salvadoran Prison
The Times interviewed dozens of migrant men sent to a prison in El Salvador by the Trump administration. Independent forensic analysts called the testimony credible and consistent and said the treatment met the U.N.’s definition of torture.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Coal companies will use these grants to squeeze a couple more years of profit out of their facilities, no permanent jobs will be created, and local families will pay more for their electricity bills. They deserve better.
If you truly care about coal communities & workers, you don’t lie to them.

This money should be used to invest in new economic opportunities, like advanced manufacturing… oh, wait, they cancelled the “Green Scam” projects that were *checks notes* bringing factories to coal towns.

CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution.

I can’t even imagine the sheer terror this man felt in his final moments, choosing to run into highway traffic because the alternative was so grim. I don’t care about his past or where he came from, he’s a human being. Enough of this.
A man was killed on a busy Virginia highway this week after running into the road while fleeing ICE agents, officials said.

The police identified the man as Jose Castro-Rivera, a 24-year-old from Honduras.
