John Lasseter stole the idea and credit for Cars from Jørgen Klubien, an animator who was friends with Lasseter at CalArts and later Pixar, and booted Jørgen to script-writing before removing him from the film altogether.

I know nobody knew about it when writing Coco, but the parallels are uncanny.

If you’re looking forward to a certain film that’s caught in unfair hate (the Disney hate for example), be sure to unplug and focus on your own enjoyment of it. You don’t have to let cynical online assholes ruin how you see a film that speaks to you. That undermines the value of it.

Because a certain teaser came out, I feel like I need to say this again. If you really hate the live action remakes that much, my advice is to just shut up, ignore it, and focus on something you enjoy. You're just a vocal minority and have no impact on the offline general audience.

Are we serious? If you have a grudge against somebody for having an unpopular opinion on a certain film, that’s a you problem. Using the R-word is especially unacceptable and degrading. What do you expect from Diaz Station? 🙄
Mr. Horse got super pissed off at @ooccouchgags.bsky.social for having an unpopular opinion for liking the new Smurfs movie LMAO

One term that I think has lost its meaning in film discussion over the years is “cash-grab.” It’s more subjective, but one may consider the people working in film, and forming your opinion on any projects they’ve made with their passion in mind, whether you end up liking one or not.

It’s pretty crazy how KPDH has reached Frozen levels of popularity at this point. Even before it blew up, some have started to compare Rumi and Elsa, both in terms of their struggles and how they learned to break free from them. It’s very fascinating.

I’m pretty curious to see how Sony Animation can build off of the first MVTM. I really loved that film, so I hope they can tackle something that can be connected to the original technology uprising.
