In the 2010s, the Icelandic tv station Channel 2 accidentally added subtitles from a gritty crime drama to an episode of Teletubbies.

My last note about 28 Years Later and Bone Temple is that Ralph Fiennes can do anything. What an actor. Handsome and charismatic enough to anchor a movie like Quiz Show, doesn't mind doing a 10 minute cameo in things like Hurt Locker and stealing the show, and is absolutely fearless about his body.

This was very tragically unexpected. Of course we’ll always remember him as one of the directors of The Lion King which we all know is one of the most iconic animated films ever made, but he also contributed to a lot more especially at Disney such as the short The Little Matchgirl which is often -
I’m deeply, deeply saddened that Roger Allers is no longer with us. He’s an absolute legend at making so many films, especially during the Disney renaissance era. Hearing his passing today made me feel very sad, may his work and impact in the animation industry live forever.

Sequels that were better than their predecessors and a part of that was due to the villains.

Ok, it’s admittedly nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, he didn’t say she should really be executed rather than just removed from office or anything, but still disrespectful as usual.

I hate to admit it, but he does have a good point, it is important to not just doing the same thing over and over again and try something new every time. You could argue Pixar hasn’t been doing that recently, but they at least do try to make their films as different from each other as possible.

Short story: one day when I was in college when we were studying animation and its history, the opening PowerPoint was highlighting animation legends and JL was amongst them. But then I mentioned to the teacher about the then recent allegations against him (this was around 2018/19 I believe), he-

I really enjoyed the first season with the Christmas and Halloween episodes now being two of my favourite tv episodes themed to those holidays, so this does still peak my interest. I think Seth MacFarlane might be going through a bit of a renaissance with both this and the recent Naked Gun reboot.

I know there's been discussions over the years over whether DreamWorks should make Madagascar 4, but I personally think they gave the characters the perfect conclusion especially when you show the dialogue between the first and third films and see how they grew between films.

(Ryan/StarGiant talking about Brave): “There’s jokes about asses in this like it’s a DreamWorks film.”

Because Pixar’s certainly NEVER had any low brow humour in their movies before this, right?

I recently made the mistake of watching some of StarGiantProductions’ (Ryan’s) older videos and I heard his takes on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and the 1940 Disney movie…

To cheer up those who long for 2D animation, I’d like to share a playlist of documentaries on some of the great Disney animators who really pioneered the art of bringing characters to life with lessons that are still learned by today’s animators, all without computers.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as sad as everyone else that 2D animated theatrical movies are most likely not coming back, but the bitter pill that must be swallowed is that they are much more expensive and time consuming in this day and age. Also are we just gonna forget that there are plenty of -
I swear, every time somebody puts out some 2D test animation for a 3D Disney film, there's always people saying shit like "Why can't Disney bring back 2D animation" or "This movie would've been SO much better if it was 2D" its getting so fucking annoying. 🙄
Eric Goldberg did this pencil test of Garry and Judy, and it's SO GOOD.

HA I liked Zootopia 2 fine, but it bugged me that Garry kind of...isn't in most of it? All the posters have his coils interacting with Nick, Judy, and other,s and I wish we'd got more of that 'Mr.Snake but kind' apto energy.

🧵 I usually just see the Golden Globes as the big prediction for how the Oscars will go, same with the Critics Choice Awards and I think this year a lot of categories will be quite predictable. OBAA is the most likely Best Picture candidate and Hopefully PTA will finally get his Oscar. Plus, -

It's one of those moments where no matter how many times you watch, the waterworks still come in, like when Sulley says goodbye to Boo, Bing Bong's sacrifice, the opening to Up, pretty much the entire running time to A Dog's Purpose, and the ending of Toy Story 3 and 4.

I’m pretty sure you’ve all watched at least one animated series that Guy Moon had a had in composing or writing music for. At least for me, it was always Fairly Odd Parents, Cow and Chicken, Yin Yang Yo and plenty of others. He was always one of those film/tv composers who you could easily identify-
RIP Guy Moon, the composer for several series, including Fairly OddParents (and the rest of Butch Hartman's work), 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, Ned's Declassified, Big Time Rush, Back in the Barnyard, and many more.

He was 63 years old.

I get that there are some elements of McCracken’s shows that could be seen as outdated with the gendered stereotypes of certain characters, but to flat out call him a misandrist for having SOME of the male characters as “idiots” and females as “whiny” is a fucking wild take.
Craig McCracken is one of the most beloved and influential people in the animation industry.

Accusing him of being a sexist misandrist (even though he’s a male himself) and comparing him to fucking Butch Hartman is wrong on so many levels.

I’ll still always stand with trans rights, but now that earlier this year I rewatched the main 8 movies, I can certainly say they’re still great and despite everything Rowling stands for now, I don’t think they should be completely buried and erased from history like most people are advocating.

Being on the autism spectrum myself, (even though the character isn’t actually confirmed to be such but does have similar traits throughout the film) this scene from Little Miss Sunshine still struck such a personal chord with me.

Five years ago today, a mob incited by Donald Trump attacked the U.S. Capitol and law enforcement to try to overturn the election he lost.

Don’t let them rewrite history. This was a violent attack on the Constitution and the peaceful transfer of power. Never forget what they had done!
