People say "manga" when they mean Shonen Jump
People say "comics" when they mean Marvel/DC
Those publishers are not monolithic, and are in fact unique in their industries. Not every manga artist is a Shonen Jump workhorse. Not ever comic suffers from retcons and reboots.

@phillipkjohnson.bsky.social after reading the new issue of hulk, I feel more resolute in my theory that the mother of horrors is like an opposite of the phoenix force. It lines up perfectly with a lot of lore that al Ewing set up in defenders and venom. As above, so below.

While I'm at it, you know if hickman would have went to DC instead like he originally planned, he would have gotten screwed over more? That era was a mess with geoff johns, scott Snyder, Tom King and bendis all contradicting each other's work.

Everyone complaining about Jonathan hickman never getting to finish his xmen story, go buy decorum. Anyone who has read it knows it shares a lot of DNA with his x men run. Maybe if it starts selling like gangbusters, he'll rework his remaining x men story into it.
