Everyone likes to talk about the 'six degrees of separation' when it comes to connections to famous people...

...but likes to ignore them when it comes to SARS2 chains of transmission.

We are all connected.

Until we remember this, we can't meaningfully protect anyone.

Did Carney and the Liberals run on an austerity platform?
I don't recall this, but suddenly there's no money for the things we should be "Elbows Up" about. While there's abundant money for the military, surveillance and security.

What we can’t lose sight of in all of this discourse is the fact that they’re targeting Autistic people - just like the Nazis did.

This is a form of eugenics.

Don’t get caught up in the minutiae, and miss the bigger issue at hand.
For example, we know that COVID can cause neurodevelopmental disabilities - if acetaminophen is the only thing a pregnant person can take to reduce pain and fever during infection, is it the medicine or the infection causing them to take the meds?

There are some scientists starting to look into the connection between people with migraine and autism/neurodevelopmental disability

(Migraine, like Autism, also has strong genetic links.)

Suspect that even if acetaminophen was taken for migraine pain, it still wouldn’t be cause of Autism.

We also know that parental illness in months prior to pregnancy is also indicated in higher rates of Autism.

Suspect that it’s underlying genetic likelihood, triggered by viral illness.

Not analgesics.

But Dr Oz is gonna make bank on this, and scientists are losing funding… so…

I’ve just done a quick glance thru that study.

My question is: were the studies ref’d looking only at Tylenol use, or why the pregnant person was taking it in the first place?

We know that fever & other illness can induce neurodevelopmental disability.

Were they taking Tylenol b/c they were sick?

Literally begging all of you to make the same connection with SARS2/COVID.
The deeper meaning behind "almost no healthy children die of the measles" is that, when children do die of the measles, it's only ever because they were already ill. And the deeper meaning behind that is "well, we can't save 'em all." And that's just...17th century thinking.

how did *we* let that happen?

when we stopped advocating for remote opt's to be made avail for high risk, disabled, marginalized & vulnerable ppl

when we decided it was 'too hard' (yes, VSB parent "advocates"'ve said that to me)

we said it's ok to exclude some ppl

some eventually becomes any/all

begging ppl to understand this is where we ended up b/c they refused to make COVID accoms

there is NO reason @reddyforchange.bsky.social couldn't attend virtually

in fact, they usually have at least 2 tech ppl dialled in via TEAMS

precedent was set when we let them remove COVID protec'ns
Guess what… the Chair of the VSB is blocking my virtual participation on the #VSB budget meeting!

Making a thread here, too.

It's impt for VSB ABC Trustees and ALL residents of Vancouver - who helped to elect these people - to understand that behind the 270+ emails complained about in this week's mtg agenda, are at least 270 KIDS being failed by this district.

Note: This is coming from the federal government.

THEY aren't publicly disclosing this info.

And there's no way people like Bonnie Henry, David Eby, Josie Osborne, et al, aren't also aware of these findings.

But they aren't telling us - or MDs so they can diagnose.

And they refuse to protect us.

So now Trump's regime wants to set up a database to "track" autistic individuals, including accessing highly personal data. Autism is not a "disease" and we definitely don't need to be tracked by any government, historically that doesn't end well for the group being tracked.

It’s a good thing that airplanes and cars can’t go from Ontario to BC, amirite, BC Public Health? 🙃
The situation in Ontario is dire. While the intensity of the spread is decreasing, we are still struggling to contain the outbreak.

I do think cases are under-reported in both countries, and likely far more in the US due to lack of access to free healthcare.
