Thank you for fighting for Carleton and for your strong advocacy to keep school lands in the public domain.

Schools are the heart of the community and the soul of the neighbourhood.

Earlier this week the VSB held a meeting to hear from community members about the permanent closure of Carleton Elementary (6-acres of school land at Joyce/Kingsway). The school has been closed for 9 years…

We worked with @lucymaloney.bsky.social on a motion coming to council on December 10 to ban right turns on red at high-risk intersections. This is a low-cost, common-sense measure that will save lives. We need your help to tell council this matters!

On Wednesday, Vancouver Council will vote on a motion brought by Lucy Maloney to restrict right turn on red at the highest risk intersections for people who walk, bike and roll.

Rebecca Bligh voted to slash wages for workers, to block rental housing in wealthy neighbourhoods, and to oppose common sense tools to properly fund our schools.

We need a progressive mayor on the ballot to deliver the change Vancouver needs. And we’ll get one. More soon.
Vancouver councillor Rebecca Bligh makes official she will run for mayor next year under a new banner of “Vote Vancouver”.

Bligh was first elected in 2018 with the NPA, left them, joined Sim’s ABC Party and was re-elected, before she was booted from ABC, mostly on divisions over social issues.

Bligh has a decent amount of support from the province and feds (more than Sim or Allam at this point), which could help.

But her 6 years being a supporter of Ken Sim, and getting elected under both the NPA and ABC banners, means it’ll be difficult to get support from local left-wing parties.

ABC back room decision making doesn’t stop at City Council.

My motion to restore democracy and transparency at the Vancouver School Board is an attempt to address this.

This motion tries to address the following problems that I, alongside unions, believe are an obstacle to good governance:
