I think about all of the things we were told weren't important, that needed to wait for 'the next election', and I think that if these things had actually been addressed, Trump wouldn't have been able to come to power.

The Civil Rights Movement wasn't spontaneous, it was planned. Rosa Parks didn't one day decide she was tired and a movement was born, it was in the works. There were plans in place for being thrown in jail. There were networks. If you give people the option of ignoring your protest, they will.
