MAKE NOISE ON THIS ONE‼️

They didn’t just deport him—they sent him to CECOT in El Salvador.

Agelviz came here legally through the refugee resettlement program—fully vetted. But when he landed in Houston, CBP snatched him over a tattoo: a clock and a rose.

No charges. No record. Just a suspicion.

This thread is very informative and it gives me hope.
listen. God works in mysterious ways or whatever but it is hard to describe how spectacularly unpopular the highly conservative U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops has made itself with the rest of church leadership. the Vatican sees them as WAY too enmeshed in GOP politics and Francis legit hated them
seeing the U.S. "could an American be the next Pope?" headlines feels a lot like having an overly proud but poorly informed parent speculate about one's future

There is still so much beauty in this world, if you know where to look.
Some 66 million monarchs are packed into just four and a half acres of forest in central Mexico. In patches of trees, tens of thousands of them cluster together. A new generation of migrating monarchs will return to this roost next fall. https://cbsn.ws/432BOmn

I mean I suspected something like this was coming when he was elected, but it is still shocking to find our country in this situation at all.
Good Lord. 4th Cir. (Judge Wilkinson writing):

"We yet cling to the hope that it is not naïve to believe our good brethren in the Executive Branch perceive the rule of law as vital to the American ethos."

The entire ballgame, folks. Unconstrained fascism on display in the Oval Office. Either we’re a Republic of laws & constitution, or not. It’s increasingly obvious which one it is. Total, complete failure of Article I.

The House just passed its budget resolution, so reconciliation is now officially underway. This is their bill to destroy Medicaid and SNAP while cutting taxes disproportionately for the rich.

THIS IS VERY REAL and can be enacted even if all Ds vote no.

Thread on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT.

something I haven't seen yet: isn't a massive increase in the range of goods worth smuggling going to be a big boost to exactly the kind of cross-border organized crime the WH claims it wants to stop?

So from my uniquely weird perspective after living in the UK through Brexit, being in India during Modi's demonetization, and living in Brazil when the real tanked during the Bolsonaro administration, I can confidentally say that Americans do not and can not understand how bad this is going to be.

The US government holds a tremendous amount of data about US citizens. Now,
The Trump administration is trying to access that data and link it together.

Kidnapping.

Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping.

Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking.

A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.
stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.

-You cannot legally deport people without due process.

-You cannot legally deport citizens.

-They are defining down deportation to break the law.
Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador

I really feel like we should take this opportunity to consider that perhaps the candidate with detailed plans to grow the economy and the middle class is preferable to the guy who just has "concepts" of a plan.
