Poland has confirmed that a deliberate act of sabotage was behind an explosion that damaged a train track between Warsaw and Lublin.

No possible perpetrator has been identified, but a minister notes that the line in question is used for supplying Ukraine.

Christian nationalist fascism: when they lower masked Gestapo goons from helicopters in the night to smash apartment windows, terrorize residents, and zip-tie and kidnap children for not being white looking enough— and then violate the 1st Amendment by reciting scripture from a government account.

I admire Mo Salah's restraint.

"Farewell". Really?

Suleiman al-Obeid was killed by the IDF as he was queuing for food in Gaza. Say it, you cowards.

1. The impacts of predatory capital - impossible rents, failing public services, rising costs of living - are being blamed across the billionaire press on immigrants and Black and Brown people.
It's so crude, so obvious, so familiar .... but if you tell the lie often enough, people believe it. 🧵

Every spring, walking the mountain commonage, I find many native tree seedlings: rowan (circled), birch, willow... But with the next passing sheep, they're gone.

Virtually ALL Ireland is overgrazed. Lifting that artificial pressure would bring the most miraculous transformation.

I also discuss the bizarre and disturbing association between the Starmer government and former special advisers to Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.
I vaguely remember being told something about "Change". But this continuity is beyond our worst nightmares.
Not just Tory policies, but actual Tories.
*Copy one of Boris Johnson's stupidest and most self-destructive policies.
*Ignore the massive wave of public fury it ignited.
*Smear and attack anyone warning that it might not be a great idea.
In this week's column I ask what the hell Keir Starmer is playing at.

Labour has denounced me as ‘deeply misleading’ on its planning reform. I wish that were true | George Monbiot
Even it now admits that brick by brick, these proposals will wreck habitats. This could be Starmer’s most damaging mistake yet, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

How in the hell can wolves, a keystone native predator, be a "threat to biodiversity"???

Nobody should have any illusions: the misinformation when it comes to the ecological crisis is easily on a par with, and probably exceeds, that of climate denial.
Fine Gael MEP Regina Doherty said: “A high wolf population can be a threat to biodiversity conservation, farmers, rural communities and tourism.”

Not to mention Red Riding Hood. And von der Leyen's pony. Not the brightest scientific mind our Regina

Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. 🎉

Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace.

You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.

As mass murder and genocide escalate in #Gaza, the UK government should denounce them, cut off all support to Netanyahu's government and assist in its prosecution. Instead, Starmer silences his ministers. In doing so, he facilitates the crimes.

We're all guilty of leaning into Amazon when needs must, but we need to wean ourselves off old, difficult habits, now more than ever.

If you read this, share a cool Irish business, designer, craftsperson or indie retailer we can support instead, and let's get a list together.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.
