I haven't written a reported piece in a while so I don't have that to re-up. BUT I'M WRITING A BOOK ABOUT ONLINE DATING and that's why you should follow me. It's a social history, based on regular people's stories. It'll be published by One Signal in a while and it will be great, I promise

Poles def being one of these cultures!
Sorry I refuse to entertain the complete non-existent world where white people don’t know that countless cultures, including some of their own but certainly diasporic racialized ones, call their mom’s cousin’s friend’s sister they grew up with “cousin” and call close women elders “aunt/auntie”

Every 5 years Poland hosts the international Chopin competition and the country is following the whole thing — players, stages, predictions — like a sports event. It’s all very wholesome and in my family includes my grandmother taking pictures of the TV and WhatsApping them to her friends

Still looking, especially if you went to USC, UT Austin, or University of Arizona around 2012 or 2013 and used Tinder in the very early days! Will be grateful for shares!
I’ve been informed that this cursed image is triggering to some — alas, I gotta do it! Did you date on EARLY Tinder, aka 2012-2015? I’m writing a history of online dating and looking for people who’d be willing to talk about their experiences. You can be anonymous! Bonus if you were still in college

Somehow (I'm not an entertainment writer) I've written multiple Gilmore Girls pieces over the course of my career, but in honor of the 25th anniversary, here's my best qz.com/820989/my-bi...
My bizarre weekend in Gilmore Girls’ real-life Stars Hollow blurred the lines between reality and fiction
When I was a teenager, I spent countless hours immersed in the life of a charming fictional town: Stars Hollow, Connecticut, the setting for the cult TV show Gilmore Girls. So when I heard about a fan...

Old enough to remember how my Greenpoint public school sorted all the kids with Polish last names into a regular track class, which made for a boring and confusing school experience (the school now has a French immersion program) 🙃
a gifted kindergarten program does not need to exist and as a kid who was arbitrarily sorted into both gifted and regular track classes throughout my education i think gifted programs enforce race and class divisions and don’t do much else
My wife is an elementary gifted ed specialist. The idea that gifted kids either don't exist or don't benefit from gifted education services is both wrong and harmful to those kids. Phasing out gifted programs is stupid. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/02/n...
