This is not normal. This is a way to destroy public services, destroy people's confidence in government. We should not be buying into any of it. #nzpol #bhn

Christopher Luxon says we need to say “yes” more and “no” less, yet his government said NO to new interisland ferries, NO to new state houses, NO to Dunedin hospital, NO to affordable water reform, NO to school upgrades, and NO to higher wages.

To add my two-cents - I have active projects that aim to understand how science is commercialised, how research findings are used (or not) by policymakers, and systemic policy barriers to innovation.

These are all classifed as social science.

RNZ news today: A report shows that Māori are 11% more likely to be prosecuted than New Zealand Europeans for the same crime.

Next item: The new Police Commissioner is open to thinking about the routine arming of police.

Hell of a list of signatories.

Let's get this clear; these are some of the wealthiest (4 figure hourly rates) but also sharpest litigators in the country. This is not a group demographically disposed to 'woke'. This is their considered view of the law.

Luxon treats the coalition agreement - which HE personally negotiated under a year ago - as immutable, non-negotiable, carved in stone. But the founding document of this country, Te Tiriti? On the table to be torn to shreds, rewritten, renegotiated for at least the next six months.

"Unlike in the US where a First Lady is essentially a political figure in her own right, New Zealand’s First Ladies and Gentlemen"

The Editor should've replied:

"Jason, unlike in the US, we do not have, and never have had, a figure called First Lady or Gentlemen.

Bin this moronic shit."
