KOSA passed out of the subcommittee in the House on 13-10 vote. Meaning that they are FINALLY listening to some opposition. But not enough to prevent the other age verification bills from passing, let alone this.

They MUST listen to opposition. Losing this fight is NOT an option.

You absolutely can sue a social media company if they harm you or your kids, actually.

You can't sue them for something someone else said, however.

You can sue the person who said the thing instead.

See how that works? It's very simple, isn't it?

First it was "just porn," then it was social media, now messaging apps and image filters.

And it's not just kids, it's all of us. The number of places online where one has to show papers or disclose identity grows rapidly. So are the places the government (or AI) needs access, without encryption.

No theyre not. You know they're not. You know Section 230 being gutted actually let's pedophiles walk free, because this was explained to you and million times by a million people.

You want this. You want kids to be harmed. You want these sick abusers to walk free. Otherwise you wouldn't do this.
Children are being exploited and abused because Big Tech consistently prioritizes profits over people.

Enough is enough. Time to sunset Section 230.

Just once, I'd like to see Dick Durbin *try* to explain the actual mechanisms by which repealing 230 will protect children from being exploited and abused. There will be hand waving about how it will "open them up to litigation" but that's not an answer.

A group of clowns (Senators) have introduced a bill to FULLY REPEAL Section 230.

No reform, no replacement, just utter destruction of all online free speech.

We can't let this happen. Share & take action

This is a horrific betrayal of her constituents, particularly trans youth and their families.

Great to hear Boston City Councilors explicitly condemning dangerous censorship legislation like #KOSA and the SCREEN ACT.

The Massachusetts Congressional delegation, especially @warren.senate.gov who cosponsored KOSA, and @markey.senate.gov who voted to advance it, need to start listening.

So of course @blumenthal.senate.gov has decided now is a great time to revive the terribly written Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) which will ... spoiler... backfire miserably

Donald Trump basically announces that he is declaring war on anyone he deems a Democrat... and one of the leading Democratic Senators, @blumenthal.senate.gov thinks now is the best time for a bipartisan censorship bill that will let MAGA define what content is allowed on the internet.

WTF?
Are you kidding me right now? This is the last thing we need. KOSA is back no thanks to Senator Blumenthal who is working with the GOP and bringing in Republican Senators to convince the House to support it.

Please, CALL GOP House leadership and tell them to keep opposing it!
