When I created my Twitter account in 2007, @nickbaker was already taken AND I figured, oh, I should be anonymous so … I picked an anagram of Nick Baker that was evocative of journalism (aka being a fan of newspapers which are printed in ink, get it, eh EH?!)
Explain your username
Crazily enough I like the book/movie about an Irish Catholic from Boston trying to make the least harmful decision in a cruel world
Explain your username

My first initials are KE and my last name is Brightbill. Contrary to what some people think, the initials aren't an attempt to create a genderless nom de plume, it's just that by the time I decided to change my Twitter handle to my name, "Brightbill" was taken.

@actionretro.bsky.social inspired by your latest Haiku video, thought I’d share my, well, not greatest journalistic accomplishment, but darn it a real fave: I got Haiku (then called OpenBeOS) into the Wall Street Journal 21(!) years ago. www.wsj.com/articles/SB1...

You might think, “oh, crypto news sites just do rah-rah bullshit.”

But, no, we go deeper than that. The latest from SBF nemesis Ian Allison.

Sitting outside at a coffee place today, as one normally does in Chicago a week before Thanksgiving.

It’s overcast but you have to be hearty here and 59 degrees feels pretty comfy — and unsettling!

I have a game. What were you "known" for on Twitter?

I'll go first. I'm the woman who caused Dave Ramsey to mass-block Royals Twitter.

Hey, Blueskyers, who the heck am I? Deputy editor-in-chief at CoinDesk. Yes, a crypto pub. I edited the story that blew up Sam Bankman-Fried. Gimme a break.

Did my time as a Bloomberg editor and reporter … an experience that taught me not to tweet. Maybe I turn that around now (here).
