One possible US American view is that they don’t need to care. Another view is that sentiment turning violently against the US pushes more (former) allies into the arms of China. Not sure how this would be in US national interest.

So awful, as most schools have no Hepa air purifiers in place. There are but a sprinkling across the well over 32k schools in the UK. (9k) COVID is airborne in all rooms, hallways, toilets, staff rooms, dinner halls, it doesn’t stay at the classroom door! Ventilation alone is inadequate. 🧵

I actually lived in Shanghai and worked for a US-HK-Chinese partnership of a public US-HK co that owned a range of fashion brands. There are what ppl here would call sweatshops. Factories where ppl work & they live in dorms & rarely leave the campus.
