It's ONLY been 65 years since six year old Ruby Bridges walked through the halls of William Frantz Elementary as the first Black child to attend an all white school. Met with mobs and hate, her bravery and courage helped change the course of history for this nation.

Q: “You think Trump is pursuing a white supremacist agenda?”

A: “Yes, I think so.”
South Africa's foreign minister says the Trump administration is pursuing a policy of "white supremacy" in its changes to the US refugee program.

The WH has dismissed the claim and says Trump has a "humanitarian heart."

When you’ve already sold your soul the words that come out of your mouth don’t matter. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Mike Johnson accuses Democrats of "trying to manufacture some sort of hoax that the president something to do with Epstein. It is absurd ... they have Trump derangement syndrome."

It's tough to know what qualifies as "normal" anymore. 🤷‍♂️
A normal reaction to today's news, dear Nancy, would be to express shock and horror at the significant possibility that the president of the United States is a child molester.

The modern Republican Party has so many pedophiles and rapists that it makes me feel like I'm crazy because how is this even possible

Removing a monument honoring Black US soldiers has nothing to do with DEI. It’s erasure of history and it’s straight-up racism.

When Christians tie Christianity to a particular political figure and party, not only do they fuse the reputation of Christianity to everything that political movement does, they become more shaped by the ways of that political movement than they do by the ways of Jesus.

One new city councilman in Prescott, AZ is a Dem, after a 37% turnout this Nov.

I will take that small win.

The past few weeks have seen millions of Americans, through their protests and votes, refusing to buckle or capitulate. How long must we wait for Democratic Party leadership to show the same courage?
Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.

A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.

When will party leadership learn this lesson?

Great book, highly recommend!
My book #Strongmen turns 5 today! The paperback edition, with a new epilogue on January 6, is now 4. The book built a large readership gradually and became a New York Times bestseller in Nov. 2024. Thank you to all who read it and share its warnings about what such leaders do to societies.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

We on Social Security vote in high percentages. For lots of reasons, poor people vote less reliably. Messing with SNAP might turn them out, though. Some seniors are also on SNAP.
We were already in the streets before he started on SNAP.

Yes, Mr. President: You’re right. We do have “the worst health care” of any major country.

Despite spending twice as much per capita, we are the only major country not to guarantee health care to all as a human right.

The solution: Medicare for All.
