Wow:
In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

My friend, Mina Schultz's life was saved by ACA. She is a health policy expert who I DEPEND upon to give YOU updates. We made this to ask each of you to make the calls to your members of Congress. It does matter, it does make a difference. We can PUT pressure on them. We *must* engage. Thank you! 🙏💜

I changed my Icon to Randy the Rooster, 3 pounds of aggressive hate for anything that might harm his flock, because I will not quit the fight we are in against the fascists harming our country.

I like this from Brian Taylor Cohen:

I still think B is the answer.
Either incompetence or malice, which is better?

It is a shit sandwich either way.
Option A: Schumer can't lead his party.
Option B: Schumer orchestrated the passage and his 'nay' was for show.

Our opinion is either way, he needs to go!

I voted NO tonight—because we have to address the MAGA health care hike.

By refusing to work with Democrats on a solution before open enrollment started, Republicans have already pushed millions of Americans off the health care cliff.

I was forced to leave Alaska a few years ago, & one of the only "bright spots" in that was that I would have Democrats representing me in the Senate (my Republican House rep is trump trash). One Senator lost his election to a billionaire Republican, & the other is Fetterman, who has lost his mind.

I went to bed furious and woke up furious. It’s a gut punch from Democrats who sold us out to their corporate overlords. Unacceptable.

There must be a price to pay. Trading away leverage for a “promise” from Republicans who haven’t kept one in a decade is political malpractice.

6. We all know the Republicans are lying when they say they have a healthcare plan, but they’re only going to discuss it once the government is back in service. The GOP will go through November and December with no real plan and will be proven to be the liars they are.

I think the Dems won.

They were chosen by the party to be the ones that changed votes because their immune from the upcoming midterms. This way, the Dems can say they got people back their paychecks, travel, snap, and look how the GOP was willing to starve them. When Insurance goes up it’ll be clear the GOP caused it.

Even if the Senate voted to extend ACA subsidies, the GOP-controlled House is unlikely to allow a vote on them.

And there's of course no guarantee that Trump would even go along with a deal.

The cruel irony is that this will end up hurting Republican states the most.

This is exactly why we need to revisit Citizens United and the way campaign finance is done. I’m all for a set amount of money from the government to each verified candidate after the primaries to spend to get their message out and outlaw dark money supporters buying attack ads.

Inquiring minds - I looked up Schumer's page on Opensecrets.
Wall Street is his top source of funding.
Donor # 7 - United Health.

But, 13% of his money came from small individual contributions of under $200.

You have the power to cut his take by 13%!
