I almost have enough for the boys' food but being able to pay for my rent, therapy and get back to my hormone doctor would be an amazing Christmas gift. I can't stress enough how much you should take care of yourself first but please help if you're able. I hope you have a warm and peaceful holiday

No guys you don't understand, we only use AI to run the dick hammering device. Some of you might question why we even need a dick hammering device, but we assure you it is critical to the creative process.

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.
Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there.
Puberty Blocker bans harm trans kids, no-one should pretend they don’t.
Puberty blocker bans in Queensland and NZ risk extreme harm to trans youth, UK expert warns
Sociologist who surveyed effect of 2024 UK ban says denial of gender-affirming care has left trans and non-binary children in ‘abject misery and severe distress’

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

If you're not trans, I don't think I can fully explain how important this is.

It's so powerful that one of the most circulated science media publications in the world has come out and said "trans children are real and providing transition care improves their lives." That's groundbreaking.

At this point, between manpower and tech, making the whole MTA free would probably straight-up *save* money.

Guy is actively complaining that the lead actor in his videogame recorded in the booth for 500 hours

Hey voice actors, how many of you would absolutely love an opportunity like that?
the lead schmuck from warhorse studios (kingdom come deliverance) identifying a real issue (budgets and dev lengths are too high and long), misconstruing it’s nature (it’s “fact”??? that it has to be this way??), and coming to the conclusion that the dead brain plagiarism bot is our savior. fuck off

If I had known the two paragraphs about genAI in my article today would be so controversial, I would have expanded them a bit! Here's a rough transcript of the relevant portion of my interview with Swen Vincke, so everyone has all the context. (Full article here: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...)

CALL YOUR REPS. Tomorrow congress will be voting on a bill that will mark all transgender citizens as sacrifices in the Eclipse so that President Trump may ascend as the fifth member of the Godhand. 23 Dems are predicted to vote yes. Make your voices heard and tell them to vote NO on the BRAND Act

I know many things are awful but here is one genuinely useful and helpful thing you can do. No matter their party, your representative needs to hear that trans people and our families are not alone and this bill is an unjustifiable and extreme threat to criminalize the health care we need to live.
Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that bans gender-affirming medical care for any transgender person under 18, and threatens any medical professional providing this care to youth with 10 years in prison.

Tell Congress to protect trans youth and vote NO.
Protect Trans Care Now
As wave after wave of extreme measures to criminalize and strip trans people of rights and safety continue, tell Congress to act.

AI is not "propping up the US economy", it's propping up GDP, a statistical measure that usually (but not necessarily) *correlates* with the economy. There is extraordinarily little domestic economic activity trickling down from AI spending. The recession is already here, and has been for a while.
“.. The US economy is in a hiring recession. Almost no jobs have been added since April.

“Wage gains are slowing.

“710,000 more people are unemployed now versus November 2024.”
