Oh by the way, don’t forget you can ask your library to order nearly any book you want to read but don’t want to buy. And as authors we love libraries buying our books & readers being able to access them through libraries.

I love my mom. She also has her habits. She has a tambourine in the car at all times. Just in case she feels the spirit come on when the music is good.

"The best and the worst thing about vaccination is that it 'makes nothing happen.'

A child successfully inoculated against measles doesn’t fall sick with that condition, doesn’t miss school, doesn’t go to the hospital. They don’t suffer life-changing complications. They don’t die prematurely."
A leading pediatrician was already worried about the future of vaccines. Then RFK Jr. came along
In a new book, pediatric infectious disease specialist Dr. Adam Ratner details the history of measles, a virus that’s often a bellwether for public health disasters.

Every communication needs to sound like the end of a pbs program… telling you who funded this … which administration

And how it was funded… which law

This guy should have no role in running our government. We didn’t elect him. He’s not a gov’t employee who is accountable. He hasn’t taken an oath to uphold the constitution or work on behalf of the American people. He’s in it for himself not for us.

"No one ever thought this would happen" is dishonest and journalists not pointing that out are doing you all a disservice. Many people said word for word this would happen. You just didn't respect those people. And you need to be honest instead of the feigned surprise for sympathy.

Can definitely confirm a LOT of ppl don’t understand this and it’s usually the ones on assistance and in need. Not being funny or shady , just very concerned for folks.
Y’all. This is why understanding how the government works is important. The verbiage the Trump administration is using in the federal freeze of all grants and loans is VAGUE for a reason.

We are in the days of shock & awful, where Trump tries to make people feel so overwhelmed by all the rapid changes & actions that they quit trying to keep up. Don't give into that. Learn about what you have the bandwidth for. Understand that these are steps being taken to break down democracy.

Americans would benefit from a much deeper understanding of where, domestically and internationally, their food and stuff come from.

It's a global economy babes, has been for a long time.

If you are planning a Target boycott bc them rolling back DEI initiatives hurts Black-owned products, but not LISTENING to those Black owners who have products in Target, you missed the plot.

If the goal is to help preserve their business, let them tell us what those solutions look like.

You do not have to consume every single tiny piece of bad news in order to be a good person. It’s ok to miss things. Traumatizing yourself isn’t the same as activism. Bearing witness to the point that you’re paralyzed with fear and horror and fury isn’t going to help us get through this.
Remember their goal is to terrorize us. And social media is a fantastic way to spread terror. We don’t have to help them.
Based on the vibes of my timeline today I’m feeling like the next two weeks are probably gonna be a really good time to reduce social media use as much as possible. Because YIKES.

Literally everything happening right now in like, every sector of life, media, government, and commerce is super orwellian and it's a mindfck to watch it all happening in real time and people either not be alarmed, be arguing with people who *are* alarmed, or acting like it's all a net positive.

If you’re the kind of person who easily forgets what you’ve accomplished, you need a practice for reminding yourself. Count the years, the finished projects, the progress, the praise, count it all up and use it as evidence against the ever present criticism in your head that you’re not doing enough.

If you’re looking for a free way to support an author, did you know you can ask your library to stock a book you want to read that they don’t have yet? And usually it’s a very basic online form? Google your library name plus the words “request a title” or “suggest a title” to find yours.

Some legislatures were transformed in November.

Take Wisconsin—the GOP lost its ability to remove officials on party-line votes.

Or Vermont the GOP gained 25 seats (!).

While in many places, little change: despite big top-ticket swings, it was a total wash in PA.

I looked in each & every state:
The GOP Came Out Ahead in Legislative Races, But Their Gains Were Modest and Uneven
Our annual review of incoming state legislatures breaks down the swing in each chamber and the five biggest political and policy takeaways.
