Inflation is on the rise — particularly at the grocery store.

One big reason why?

Minimal competition opens the door to maximal price-gouging — and the opportunity to pull shady tricks like this. https://youtu.be/ad5GfgrPkYo?si=iDRiVN9_TsjGsD9k

I sometimes think reading goals and the social media culture around them can suck the fun out of reading. Just read when you can, don’t get caught up in beating a number or beating someone else’s goal.

Don’t feel bad that you read less than the next person because your life is not their life.

I just finished The Reformatory and it was a really excellent read.

The federal government is still shut down. Here's what that means across the country

Again, not the most important here, but I'm begging for a journalist to figure out how/why NPS put up a Confederate statue DURING A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. How is this "essential" when food stamps are not?
Feels symbolic that a Confederate statue first installed in 1901, at the peak of the consolidation of the Jim Crow system—when the states of the former Confederacy were in the midst of revising their constitutions to disfranchise Black citizens—has been reinstalled.

I'm sharing this because I didn't know it existed, and it is good information. You can keep track of the progress of project 2025 and make decisions on your own.
So we’re clear, Black elders predicted all of this.

They taught us to never trust banks, to keep emergency cash;

Our Elders taught us to turn inward, to nurture our internal Black consciousness and community—

ALL in unspoken preparation for an eventual White Nationalist takeover.

Now here we are
