This opinion by Justice Kavanaugh is undoubtedly going to be a large part of his legacy. It would be unremarkable if he wrote this before ICE started using excessive force to detain citizens without reasonable suspicion. But he wrote it after.

Imagine saying, “they have to obey the law“ when it comes to immigrants but not when it comes to the people holding the highest positions of power in the country yet still somehow expecting everyone to believe you take the law seriously.

I won’t argue if you think AI can replace my attorneys and paralegals. I’ll just watch and laugh.

Bad news: not really.

I got my wife one of those heart-shaped boxes of candy for Valentine’s Day. But she is on a dairy-free diet because our newborn might be allergic to dairy. So I removed the chocolates and replaced them with dairy-free protein bars. Now I need to do something with all of this chocolate.

I just recently remarked that I cannot recall any fond memories of the times that my kids were under 6 months. It was just interrupted sleep, screaming, an incredibly messy house, and constantly having some logistical dilemma arise at the worst time.

In 2016, in the absence of evidence, far-right nuts were outraged because they thought Democrats in positions of power were imprisoning and abusing children.

Today, right-wingers control our federal govt and use federal agents and resources to kidnap and imprison children, and nobody disputes this.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

These two nails on the stairwell randomly popped up. Two other nails on the step below it are also starting to pop up. What causes this? This house was built 8 years ago. Why now?
The photos are of the same two nails, each photo under different lighting.

Maria is one of hundreds of children, who — like Liam Ramos — have been held at a Texas detention facility where parents say children languish as they’re served contaminated food, receive little education and struggle to obtain basic medical care.

Here's our attempt at telling their stories. 2/

Chatted with my parents tonight. They asked if ours kids’ elementary school was teaching kids to be transgender. They also claimed that a student at the local high school dressed as a cat and teachers gave her a litter box. This is a years-old, persistent hoax that get constantly gets debunked.
