having many thoughts over how real-world human connection is necessary for us as individuals and as a species, and how technology and tech people are flattening our relationships. we should become more nuanced, more complicated, more understanding as we go through life. not the other way around.

I went for the first time in 2022 and this was the single event that gave my my writing spark back. I keep getting more enmeshed with the community and I love it. Makes me feel like my stories are worth telling after all.
I feel like I Cannot Shut Up About 4th Street Fantasy Convention and that I Don't Talk Enough About 4th Street Fantasy Convention, but it is my favorite, I've gone since 2018, I sat down to dinner with friends, there was a shilling in my beer, and now I'm on the board & Seminar Coordinator
Doing a little work on writing today even though I keep a strict 4 day work week and I was doing Quality Thinking (which is me mind palacing my way around ideas) and I started thinking about a panel at 4th Street in 2019 (a sequel to a panel in 2018)

The programming is *that good,* y'all

We are absolutely losing a generation of activists and artists who see how activists and artists get treated online and want nothing to do with it.
I wonder how much art we lose because people don't want to pursue careers in which constant harassment is simply considered the price of admission.

The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full-summer day; the flowers were blossoming profusely and the grass was richly green.

If you want a meaningful gd existence, you need to square in your head the facts that there are many reasons for despair, and you have to get up in the morning and keep trying anyway just in case something works

There's an interesting problem in digital preservation, which is that preservation only exists actively. Only the things you actively move to new formats, survives.

Community is probably the same way: it has to be actively maintained in order to outlive whatever spot it's currently in.

For the 4th Street crowd, hello! You have all seen me on Discord and possibly in person, but I'm attempting that pen-name thing to keep Creative Pursuits and Capitalism Pursuits separate. We'll see how this goes. :)
